Why AlumniOnline™ collects your personal information
Protection of your personal information is very important to us. The information you are asked to provide to AlumniOnline™ is collected for the primary purpose of improving our services to enhance your experience as a member of our alumni community.
Through AlumniOnline™ it is possible to stay in contact with a wide network of alumni, hear about national and international reunions and events, share your expertise, discover ways to contribute by mentoring and stay informed about a wide variety of alumni-related topics. Other purposes of collection are: to inform you of products and services available from the University of Sydney and its affiliates; and also to assist us deliver customised content to AlumniOnline™ users who have indicated their interest in a particular area. We also measure site activity in an aggregated form (that is, de-identified data) for the purposes of collating statistics and reviewing and improving our site for the benefit of our users.
Our services and your rights
This site includes a searchable directory to facilitate personal communication between alumni. "My Online Profile" Page features information you may wish to share with other site members. Only people who are members of this site can view other members' Online Profile Page. The only information that is automatically displayed on your Online Profile Page is your full name and degree. Additional information from your Personal Profile information will appear only if you have opted to provide other personal information including photos. Users have the right to access all their personal information to check, update or correct it as necessary.
All member information on the Web site is securely stored. Information contained in this directory is not used for soliciting business or sending spam or junk mail and is not sold or transferred to any third parties.
The provision of chat rooms and forums is to facilitate communication between registered users only. The University is not responsible for the content posted by users of these services but reserves the right to remove any comments which are inappropriate, defamatory, discriminatory or may have a negative impact on the University in any way.
