Welcome to online mentoring at the University of Sydney
This online mentoring program is designed for alumni to mentor students in relation to their career development and for all parties to enjoy the widely-recognised benefits that mentoring brings.
Become a mentor
Who can be a mentor?
Anyone who is a University of Sydney graduate and has successfully completed the online Mentor Readiness Questionnaire can become a mentor.
Benefits of being a mentor
Mentoring provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a student’s career development by sharing knowledge you have acquired through years of experience.
As a mentor you can gain many benefits.
Become a mentee
Who can be a mentee?
Anyone who is a current student of the University of Sydney, who is aged 18 years or over and has successfully completed the Mentee Readiness questionnaire can become an online mentee. Final year students who have completed their final exams and are not yet in the alumni database, or who are still engaged in a mentoring relationship at the time of their graduation, may continue that relationship if you and your mentor agree. Students who defer or disengage from their studies whilst in a mentoring relationship may continue by mutual agreement, but this will have to be outside the University of Sydney online mentoring community.
Benefits of being a mentee
Mentoring programs offer students valuable opportunities for professional development. Students who participate in this program can expect to enjoy a range of benefits.
Alumni need no previous mentoring experience - simply a desire to help a student, and the willingness to share their time and life experience on a mutually agreed basis.
Students need to play their part fully in the mentoring process.
