Event Description - Nobel Prize Winner Professor Elizabeth Blackburn Public Lecture

The University of Sydney, The Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists, The Human Genetics Society of Australasia and The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, invite you to attend a public lecture by eminent Scientist and 2009 Nobel Prize Winner, Professor Elizabeth Blackburn on "Telomerase and Telomere Biology".

Telomerase is an enzyme made up of RNA and protein that builds and stabilises telomeres, the ends of chromosomes. During aging, telomere length decreases, an effect that is slowed down by telomerase. Most cancer cells have high telomere action.
